thyrovate label (2)
Thyrovate Supplement Facts

Myokem, a company most famous for their top rated pre-workout product, Nitramine, and potent fat burner, Pyroxamine, have released two new products, Thyrovate and Transport. There has been a lot of hype about these items, and with good reason. The main ingredients in Thyrovate, Japanese mugwart, olive leaf, sensoril, and grains of paradise are designed to assist in weight loss, reduce stress, and are supposed to specifically target belly fat. Thyrovate also contains the common fat burning ingredients green tea extract and Bioperine (black pepper extract). Transport is a nutrient partitioner designed to increase insulin sensitivity and better utilize nutrients to build muscle and burn fat. Some of the ingredients are well known like cinnamon bark and Bioperine (cinnamon is well known for its function in increasing insulin sensitivity), but it also includes some wildcards such as GS4 Plus gymnema, Indian gentian, bitter melon, and amur cork tree. Each of them plays a key role in bringing up nutrient partitioning and putting on lean muscle.

Who doesn’t love high stimulant pre-workouts? For many, the stim is all that matters when they are selecting a pre workout formula. For a long time, Finaflex Stimul8 was considered the strongest non DMAA pre workout. Many users also reported extremely intense energy from Pro Supps Mr. Hyde. Whatever your preference, for the users of those products, nothing will do except to get the most energy possible from their pre workout.

Now, VMI Sports has entered a new competitor in the high stimulant pre-workout game. Krush It is one of the most intense formula’s we have ever seen. The “Focal Kinetic Krush It Matrix” (AKA Energy and Focus Blend) alone has over 1g of ingredients! While 1g may not seem like a lot, that is a very large amount for a stim/focus blend. Comparatively, Mr. Hyde has a total of 1.048g in it’s Caffeine and Intensity Matrixes, and Stimul8 has a total of 2.6g in it’s blend (combination of all ingredients).

high-stim-pre-workout-comparison-infographic-1Krush It has a legit energy and focus blend. Only Mr. Hyde compares for non DMAA pre-workouts.

How Does Krush It Compare To Other High Stim Pre-Workouts?

It’s hard to tell exactly how good Krush It is. Exact dosages are unknown due to the use of proprietary blends on the label. While it’s hard to know how the dosage of stimulants in Stimul8, Krush it appears to be the better overall blend with over 4.25g of ingredients compared to Stimul8’s 2.6g. We can say the formula looks very similar to Mr. Hyde’s formula as both blend’s top three ingredients are Choline, Caffeine, and Dicaffeine Malate. So how does it differ?

  • Inclusion of Picamilion despite the mass removal from supplements (more about that here).
  • Inclusion of Norcoclaurine HCl (Higenamine)
  • Does not contain Hordenine

While the FDA has recently made a big fuss about Picamilion, it really shouldn’t scare anyone away from this product. Picamilion is a calming agent very similar to GABA, and we have not heard of any adverse side affects associated with it.

Norcoclaurine HCl (Higenamine) is an ephedrine like ingredient, that should provide a fairly good energy boost. Overall this ingredient has received positive reviews from users and definitely adds to the formula. If we were to give this product an edge over Mr. Hyde, this would be the reason, as Hordenine (one of the focus enhancers in Mr. Hyde) has not received a ton of positive reviews, and according to a well known formulator has trouble passing the blood brain barrier.

Conclusion

Try it. Krush It has one of the best formula’s for a high stimulant pre-workout that we have seen. It’s not going to give you a great pump, but it will give you insane energy and focus. If you want to add a great pump enhancer to this formula, try one of our cheap non-stimulant pre workouts

***We will be testing this formula over the next few days, so check out the comments for our review!***

Craze V2, by Driven Sports

Remember the good ol’ days of DS Craze?

It seemed like it was everyone’s favorite pre-workout for a while. It won awards.

Furious Pete gave Craze a 10/10 rating on his Youtube channel
Furious Pete gave Craze a 10/10 rating on his Youtube channel

It made you lift harder, stronger, and longer, all while making you feel amazing. That’s what most people experienced anyways.

Then people/companies started lab testing Craze, and the findings were not good.

It was reported that the original formula of Craze contained meth-like compounds.

Some people didn’t care what was in it, as long as it worked. Some stores pulled it from their shelves immediately. Prices began to skyrocket as stock ran out, and bodybuilders across the globe tried to get their hands on the last of the precious supply.

In 2013, it was taken off the market.

Run-ins With The Law

Driven Sports CEO, Matt Cahill
Driven Sports CEO, Matt Cahill

Apparently Driven Sports’ owner Matt Cahill has quite the criminal history.

USA Today has discovered multiple lawsuits against Matt. He has already served 2 years jail time for shenanigans with weight loss pills, and he currently has at least one open court case.

But he’s not letting that slow him down.

Mr. Cahill has the cajones to reformulate the product for which he is still awaiting court appearance.

Introducing, Craze V2.

Now it seems likely that Driven Sports is going to be extremely careful with this one, as they are under the microscope by so many people now.

Or are they just going to see how many times they can get away with illegal activities… ?

What’s New in Craze V2?

Let’s take a look the ingredients side by side.
Craze V@ and Original Formula Nutrition Facts
With the original Craze, most of the “feelings of euphoria” were assumed to be from the Dendrobex and Citramine.

Dendrobex is an orchid flower extract, and Citramine is extracted from oranges. Both are stimulants that have been shown to promote enhanced mood.

Keep in mind that these ingredients are completely legal. The problem with Craze was that it tested positive for other chemicals as well.

Even so, Driven Sports has removed Dendrobex and Citramine from Craze V2, along with the B-Phenylethylamine HCl.

Those ingredients have been replaced with a few well-known nootropics.

Nootropics

Nootropics
You might not have heard of the term nootropics, as it’s not talked about much in the bodybuilding world. However, I feel these ingredients could lead to great improvement through the mind-muscle connection.

Nootropics are basically brain enhancers. Kind of like the movie Limitless, but not that extreme.

Many students and entrepreneurs love nootropics because of the focus they get, with no side effects (compare this to Adderall or other drugs that have well known side-effects). Some nootropics have even been shown to improve conditions such as Alzheimers and other brain-related illnesses.

If dosed properly, it looks like Craze V2 could provide a very focused workout!

Of course Craze V2 has a proprietary blend, which means we can’t see how much of each ingredient makes up the formula.

But we know that the ingredient listed first is the main ingredient, and the ingredient listed 2nd is the 2nd largest ingredient, and so on.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is the 3rd ingredient, so it must have a pretty hefty dose. This is great news!

Tyrosine converts to dopamine, a powerful neurotransmitter in your brain. Dopamine is what gives you motivation and drive, and without it you can feel fatigued and lazy.

Many students take tyrosine to help them study, especially when deprived of sleep.

Choline Bitartrate

Choline helps your brain and nervous system function. It is a precursor to Acetylcholine, which is HUGE for memory and cognitive function.

There’s a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo, but basically choline helps enhance all of the other nootropics.

Little Clubmoss Extract

Better known as Huperzine-A, this ingredient will slow the breakdown of Acetylcholine (ACh)

So while the Choline Bitartrate helps produce more ACh, Huperzine-A keeps it from degrading. Together these ingredients will keep your ACh levels high, and your brain happy.

Velvet Bean Extract

This extract contains L-Dopa, which has been shown to increase dopamine levels, similar to L-Tyrosine.

It’s more than just a nootropic though, it also can increase growth hormone and testosterone levels!

The Heavy Hitters

Heavy-hitting ingredients
Enough about the fancy brain crap, right!?

Let’s talk about the ingredients that are going to help you lift more weight and build more muscle.

Creatine

Gotta have your creatine! This is the fast-track ingredient to enhanced strength and muscle mass.

Actually there’s also some research on creatine and the brain, but the strength gains are far more important here.

Trimethylglycine (Betaine Anhydrous)

Also known as TMG, this ingredient could be the best supplement for your heart. But we’re not here for heart health, we’re here for gainz!

In one 6-week study, males supplementing with betaine increase their muscle mass by 4 pounds, while reducing their body fat by 7%. The placebo group saw no changes.

L-Citrulline

This magic piece of the Craze puzzle will keep your endurance up, and fatigue down.

It also gets converted into nitric oxide, which gives you a pump, so nutrients can be shuttled to your muscles as you work out.

Caffeine

Tried and true, nothing gets the job done quite like caffeine.

This will give you and instant physical and mental boost, which you’re going to need for your next intense workout!

Green Coffee Bean Extract

It’s mainly used for weight loss, but it might provide some effects similar to caffeine.

The Mystery Ingredient

Craze V2 Mystery Ingredient
Greater Galangal Extract.
Of course DS had to throw a mystery ingredient into the mix, just to keep everyone guessing.

There’s not a whole lot of information about this ingredient.

It is a rhizome (underground stem) used in some Asian soups, but that doesn’t say much as far as muscle building properties or cognitive enhancement.

Galangal has been used medicinally for colds and sore throats, and has shown slight antimalarial activity in mice testing.

Maybe Driven Sports just included this ingredient in Craze V2, so they can secretly add another “meth-like substance” and everyone will think it’s the Galangal?? …Yeah probably not.

Overall Thoughts on Craze V2

Is Craze V2 as “good” as the original Craze? Probably not.

But I only say that because most of you who are asking, are probably asking about the way it made you feel.

Maybe you should ask yourself if you were taking it for recreation, or for results?

Because I think Craze V2 could overtake the original formula if you are looking at actual performance and results in the gym.

You might not feel as cracked out, but you are going to lift hard. This looks like a much better ingredient profile than some other pre-workout supplements on the market.

Honestly though, everyone reacts differently, and the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself.

Who knows, maybe you will like it even more than the original!

BPI protein

Have you ever wondered how your favorite protein powder came to be, or better yet wondered if the contents of the container are what the label actually says? BPI Sports co-founder James Grage has taken great strides in sports nutrition by providing you peace of mind with the introduction of a third party testing agency called Chromadex.

Amino Spiking

If you’re not familiar with amino-spiking, it’s basically a way for manufacturers to sell you a cheaper, lower quality product, without reflecting that on the label. It makes it really difficult for customers to decide which protein is actually good quality.

You can read about it in detail here

Purus Labs was not one of the companies spiking their protein, and they have come up with a solution to prove it.
