In the world of bodybuilding supplements, there are many 'quick fixes' that promise incredible muscle gain or fat loss in just a short period of time. There are a handful of compounds that can actually deliver dramatic results, but many come with harsh side effects or health risks.
However, one in particular has shown promise in improving athletic performance across the board: without the hormones, risk, or side effects.
What is it?
It's called Laxogenin.
A plant called Smilax Sieboldii contains molecules called brassinosteroids. These are known to cause growth in plants. At some point, scientists decided to investigate it's effects on humans, and it showed promising results in improving protein synthesis and athletic performance - without the nasty side effects.
The compound you will see in most products is '5a-hydroxy laxogenin', a synthetic compound identical to the one found in plants.
Supplementing with laxogenin will cause an increase in protein synthesis. This means the rate at which the muscle cells process protein to repair themselves increases. This has a number of benefits. First, you recover from workouts faster. This lets you train longer and harder. Second, anytime protein synthesis is increased, the muscle cell increases the amount of intracellular fluid - thus making your muscles look fuller and rounder.
